A dream start for Starlites paved the way for their success in this women junior category as they beat Hibs for the third time this season after other comfortable wins in the regular season.
Hibs were too tense at the start and Starlites, led by Michela Zammit Cordina, Anthea Micallef and Mikela Riolo, stormed to a 17-0 first quarter lead.
Hibs did find their touch in the second quarter which they won 20-12 but Starlites were comfortable in the driving seat.
Another hope of a Hibs’ comeback was shattered with another positive start by Starlites in the second half as they dominated the third quarter and a number of runs led them to a hefty 49-24 lead.
The last quarter was a formality with the Starlites’ clan celebrating their success and then with their captain Riolo being presented with the winning trophy by the MBA Secretary General Joseph Muscat.
