The male and female Under 18 National Teams got off to positive and very encouraging starts in the FIBA European Under 18 Championships for Small Countries taking place in San Marino and Georgia respectively.
The boys beat Moldova 87-79 on the opening day mainly thanks to a strong 27-18 last quarter.
The girls made it two wins in two days. On the opening day in Tbilisi, Malta beat Gibraltar 65-32 (for game stats click here) and then registered a positie 53-47 success over Kosovo (for game stats click here).
The Malta Basketball Association augurs more positive performances to both the national teams in their next games, the boys play the hosts San Marino later today whilst the girls play the home side Georgia on Sunday).
