Basketball 4 Schools: Application re the free Basketball Awareness Programme endorsed by the Ministry of Education for Scholastic Year 2019/2020

Following another successful year with a record number of over 30 schools being

serviced in the past months, we are eager to set off on another hopefully successful scholastic year, namely 2019/20120.

The Malta Basketball Association, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, runs two different (even though both are similar at a technical level) basketball awareness projects.

Both projects are fully endorsed by the Ministry of Education, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youths, Sport and Voluntary Organisations, SportMalta as well as the Department of Education.

The attached application form refers to these school programmes for the scholastic year 2019/20120.

A number of schools have already applied and are booked for the programmes during 2019/2020. However, whilst we are also launching a new sub-programme (the Basketball Knowledge Visual Sessions – this was tested as a pilot project last year and proved very popular) and also because we may have some empty slots still available, we are putting forth a second call for applications.

Should your school be interested to avail itself of one of the basketball awareness programmes in the coming scholastic year, you are kindly invited to fill in the attached application form and send it, by Thursday 10th October 2019, to the undersigned on [email protected]

Application Form Basketball Awareness Sessions scholastic year 2019 2020

In case of any added queries or requests, I would be willing to hear or even discuss with your kind self, or other staff members within your school, on telephone 79 404 404.

The requisite from your end is generally the availability of at least one basketball board at  your school. (re the new Basketball Knowledge Visual Sessions, we would need access ideally to a computer lab whereby students may access to some PCs given that a most interesting part of the sessions would be a fun, interactive work group/quiz)

From our end, we should provide all the basketball technical equipment needed for the basketball sessions/lessons.

Please note that there are already some bookings in place for the coming year and the general concept followed is that of a ‘first-come, first-served’.
